Cakery
The Gardener’s Greenhouse combines my love of gardening, baking and cake decorating using natural, plant-based ingredients. It has culminated in ‘clean’ cakes and baking, made from scratch with no artificial food colouring. All cakes are made to suit your requirements with a combination of local, Fair Trade and organic ingredients. Most of them can be adapted to be gluten and allergy free. Some flavours and garnishes use seasonal ingredients and edible flowers from the garden so they will be unique to you.
I have a registered kitchen and look forward to enhancing your special day with a beautiful cake or bake.

Menu and Price Guide
This menu will give you an idea of flavours, sizes and products available. They are a guide only as they are often dependant on seasonal ingredients. They can also be amended to suit your individual preferences and budget. All cakes are made with fruit compote, ganache or sauce fillings and are frosted with Swiss meringue buttercream or cream cheese icing. Specialty flours, free range eggs, chocolate and caramel decorations, nuts and meringue decorations are included in the price.

Carrot Cake
Moist home grown carrot cake with pineapple and walnuts. The cake is filled with pineapple curd and cream cheese frosting, topped with crystallised carrot curls and a white chocolate collar.

Pear and Walnut Chocolate Chip Cake
A lightly spiced cake with chunks of dark chocolate, pears and walnut pieces. The cake is frosted with beetroot dyed Swiss meringue buttercream and shiso dyed crystallised pears.

Classic Banana Cake with a ‘touch’ of Caramel
Traditional banana cake filled with caramelised or raw bananas and Swiss meringue buttercream, caramel sauce, toffee springs, candied hazelnuts and calendula petals.

Mixed Berry and White Chocolate Cake
Mixed berry cake layers filled with a berry compote and Swiss meringue butter cream. The cake is edged with white chocolate shards and topped with fresh strawberries.

Salted Peanut and Caramel Slice
A thick caramel filling between a chocolate, coconut and peanut butter base, topped with salted peanuts and Whittaker’s dark chocolate ganache.
Carrot Cup Cakes
Baby carrot cakes with vanilla flavoured cream cheese swirls topped with crystallised carrot, thyme flowers and pineapple sage leaves.
Cookie Selection
A cookie stack makes a nice gift. This one has salted peanut brownies and Whittaker’s dark chocolate chip biscuits. More varieties are available.
Wholemeal Ginger Slice
A chewy wholemeal and coconut slice made with New Zealand grown rolled oats, topped with ginger fudge frosting.
Chocolate Brownie Squares
Double chocolate fudge brownie with Whittaker's dark chocolate chips and ganache, piped chocolate flowers and cornflower petals.
Chocolate Chip Lactation Cookies
The perfect gift for breastfeeding mums. Made with New Zealand rolled oats, brewer’s yeast, LSA (ground linseed, sunflower seeds and almonds) and Whittaker’s chocolate chunks.
Tan Square
The traditional New Zealand tan square classic with a double caramel centre, shortbread base and crumble topping.
Spice Biscuits
Lightly spiced sugar cookies topped with beetroot dyed glace icing and crushed, freeze dried raspberries.
Calendula Seed Crackers
Crunchy five seed crackers with homegrown calendula petals and organic seeds. Delicious on a cheeseboard served with hummus.
Desserts
Caramel Cheesecake
A ‘no bake’ cheesecake blended with homemade caramel sauce and topped with vanilla whipped cream, candied hazelnuts, caramel sauce and toffee springs.
Double Chocolate Brownie
Decadent and fudgey, this chocolate brownie is made with a whole block of melted Whittaker’s dark chocolate and studded with chocolate chips.
Classic Pavlova
A New Zealand classic, topped with vanilla whipped cream, fresh summer fruit and homemade hokey pokey.
Lemon Caramel Slice
This is more a dessert than a slice. It has an oaty orange crust, white chocolate drizzle and vanilla whipped cream on the side.
Macarons
Natural blue spirulina and pink pataya macarons filled with blueberry and raspberry ganache.
Dessert Grazing Tables
Dessert tables made to order with a river of meringues, chocolate and caramel sauce, lemon curd, chocolate decorations and fresh fruit.
